Few stretches of Swedish coastline carry the same atmosphere as the Bjäre Peninsula, the dramatic thumb of land that juts into the Kattegat northwest of Båstad. Bjäre Golfklubb sits within this landscape of clifftop heath, beech forests, and farmland that drops toward the sea — terrain that gives the course a genuine wildness uncommon in Swedish golf. The course works with the peninsula's natural contours rather than against them, and the routing takes full advantage of elevation changes and sea views that periodically open up across the water toward the Danish coast.
Båstad itself is one of Sweden's most historically elegant resort towns, long associated with the Swedish Open tennis tournament and a certain understated Scandinavian wealth. Golf here carries a similar character — well-maintained, serious about itself, but grounded in the landscape rather than showy about it.
The course plays as a genuine test across its full routing, with coastal winds off the Kattegat adding a variable the scorecard cannot begin to capture. Visitors exploring Skåne's golf offerings will find Bjäre a more rugged and scenically compelling option than the flatter heathland tracks found further south in the region.
