Few golf destinations in the Caribbean have generated as much buzz in such a short time as Albany. Developed as part of a high-end residential and marina community on the southwestern tip of New Providence, the course opened around 2010 and was designed by Ernie Els — a pairing of architect and setting that signals exactly what kind of experience awaits. Els shaped a layout that feels more like a private estate course than a traditional resort track, with generous fairways framed by luxury homes and water features that demand precision rather than length.
Albany gained serious international attention as the host venue for the Hero World Challenge, Tiger Woods' PGA Tour event that draws a limited field of the world's top players each December. That association with elite-level competition gave the course a profile well beyond the Bahamas, and watching professionals navigate it offers real insight into where the challenges lie.
Nassau itself provides the backdrop — turquoise water, year-round warmth, and a culture that makes a golf trip here feel like considerably more than just golf.
