Stuart sits at the northern tip of the Treasure Coast, where the St. Lucie River meets the Atlantic, and it occupies a quiet stretch of Florida that has largely avoided the overdevelopment that defines golf corridors farther south in Palm Beach County. The region's combination of warm winters, coastal breezes, and native vegetation — saw palmetto, slash pine, live oak — gives courses here a character distinct from the manicured resort belt.
The Florida Club is a private members' club serving a community that takes its golf seriously without the pretension of the Palm Beach scene. That positioning shapes everything: the pace, the care of the grounds, the way members engage with a course they play regularly and know intimately rather than sampling once on a resort package.
Stuart itself is one of the more underrated golf towns on Florida's east coast, offering a genuine sense of place rather than a manufactured one. For visitors fortunate enough to receive a member invitation, the experience reflects that authenticity — real Florida golf, rather than a theme-park version of it.
