Few private clubs in South Florida carry as much cachet as Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club. Founded in the early 1960s and designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., the course was built as the centerpiece of one of Boca Raton's most exclusive residential communities — a place where waterfront estates and manicured fairways exist in deliberate harmony. Jones shaped the layout with his signature combination of generous landing areas and well-guarded greens, giving members a course that rewards precision over raw power.
Boca Raton itself sits at the northern edge of the Gold Coast, where the Atlantic climate keeps conditions warm and occasionally breezy year-round. The flat South Florida terrain means water — canals, lakes, and lateral hazards — does most of the strategic work, and Royal Palm uses it extensively. Errant shots here tend to find a wet ending.
As a members-only club, Royal Palm is less a destination than a lifestyle. Access is tightly controlled, the standards are high, and the expectation is that the course will reflect the community around it — which, by all accounts, it does.
