Palmela Village Golf Course sits within the Quinta do Anjo development on the slopes of the Serra da Arrábida foothills, southeast of Setúbal in the Setúbal Peninsula. This corner of Portugal is genuinely striking — the Serra da Arrábida rises sharply to the south, covered in Mediterranean scrub and limestone, while the flatlands stretching toward the Tagus and Sado estuaries open up wide views across one of the country's most varied coastal landscapes. The climate is mild and dry for much of the year, making the peninsula one of the more reliably playable corners of Portuguese golf.
The course serves the residential Palmela Village community, giving it the relaxed, unhurried character typical of a proprietary resort layout built around a housing development. Rounds here tend to be sociable rather than intensely competitive, and the surrounding vineyards — Palmela is a recognized wine region, known especially for Moscatel and robust reds — add a distinctly local flavor to the setting.
For visiting golfers, this is a practical and scenic base. Lisbon is roughly 40 kilometers north, and the acclaimed links and parkland courses of the Lisbon Coast are within easy reach, making Palmela Village a low-key complement to a broader Portuguese golf itinerary.
