Holstebro Golfklub has been one of Jutland's more respected club operations for decades, and Storåbanen — the "Storå course," named for the river that winds through the region — reflects the flat, open character of west Jutland's heathland and river-valley terrain. The Storå itself is a genuine hazard and a visual anchor throughout the round, and the low-lying ground along its banks gives the layout a links-adjacent feel without actually being coastal. Expect exposed conditions: wind off the North Sea plain is a constant presence here, and it reshapes the effective difficulty of the course entirely depending on the day.
Holstebro sits at the heart of a quietly thriving golf region. Central Jutland punches well above its weight for the game, with a dense cluster of clubs within easy driving distance, many of them built on similar river-valley and heathland terrain.
Storåbanen plays as a proper members' course — well-maintained, taken seriously by a committed local membership, and rewarding to those who learn to manage the wind and respect the water rather than fight either one.
