Connemara Golf Club

Few links courses in Ireland announce themselves quite so dramatically. Connemara Golf Club sits on the Atlantic edge of County Galway, where the Twelve Bens mountains rise to the east and the ocean stretches west toward nothing. The course opened in 1973 and was redesigned by Eddie Hackett — Ireland's most celebrated links architect — who shaped the land with characteristic restraint, letting the terrain do most of the talking. The back 9 climbs into elevated coastal terrain that delivers some of the most visually striking golf in the country, with long views across Mannin Bay and the surrounding bog and rock.
