Few English parkland courses enjoy a setting quite like this one. Knole Park Golf Club sits within the grounds of the ancient Knole estate in Sevenoaks, one of the largest houses in England, surrounded by a medieval deer park that has changed little in centuries. The fallow and sika deer that roam freely across the course are not a marketing flourish — they are as native to this landscape as the ancient oaks themselves, and rounds here carry a sense of moving through living history rather than simply playing golf.
The course occupies a genuine piece of Kent's North Downs country, where the terrain rolls and falls through mature woodland in ways no architect could manufacture. Par 70 suits a layout that prizes precision and course management over raw length, rewarding players who read the ground and respect the trees.
Sevenoaks itself sits at the edge of the Weald, within easy reach of London yet feeling thoroughly removed from it — a corner of the Home Counties where the golf feels unhurried, traditional, and quietly distinctive.
