The Faldo course at Lough Erne Resort sits on a peninsula surrounded by the island-dotted waters of Lower Lough Erne in County Fermanagh, one of Northern Ireland's most dramatically beautiful settings. Designed by Sir Nick Faldo and opened in 2009, it was his first course in Ireland and represents a genuine statement layout — bold, strategic, and built to reward players who think their way around rather than simply overpower it. The course weaves through mature woodland and along the lough's edge, with water shaping decisions on multiple holes and the Fermanagh lakeland stretching to the horizon throughout.
Lough Erne itself established a strong reputation quickly, hosting the G8 Summit in 2013 and cementing its status as one of Ireland's premier resort destinations. The Faldo course is the more challenging of the resort's 2 layouts, designed with tournament-quality ambition.
Enniskillen, the county town of Fermanagh, is an island town — literally built between 2 channels of the River Erne — giving the entire area a distinctive character shaped by water at every turn.
