Few courses in American golf carry a name with more weight than Stadium. Home to the WM Phoenix Open — the PGA Tour's loudest and most attended event — this TPC Scottsdale layout was designed by Jay Morrish and Tom Weiskopf and opened in 1987 specifically to showcase tournament golf, with graded mounding that allows tens of thousands of spectators to watch from every angle. The 16th hole, a short par 3 playing over water to an island-style green ringed by 20,000 screaming fans during tournament week, is among the most iconic holes in professional golf.
Away from the circus of February, the course plays as a genuine test of desert golf — Sonoran landscape, forced carries over native scrub, and bentgrass greens that demand precision approaches. The par-71 layout rewards shotmaking over raw power, and the elevation changes built into the stadium mounding add real strategic wrinkles.
Scottsdale sits at the heart of one of the world's great golf destinations, and the Stadium course is, in many ways, its loudest signature.
