Golf de Saint-Quentin en Yvelines

Few courses in France carry the Olympic pedigree that Saint-Quentin en Yvelines does. Designed by Architectes Golf Design and opened in 1990 within the Parc Naturel de la Haute Vallée de Chevreuse, the course was selected to host the golf competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics — a landmark moment for French golf and a powerful statement about the layout's quality. It brought the world's best players to the Île-de-France for the first time at that level, with Scottie Scheffler and Lydia Ko among the champions crowned on its fairways.

The course sits in the Yvelines département, roughly 25 kilometres southwest of Paris, in a landscape shaped by rolling plateaus, mature woodland, and the open parkland typical of the greater Paris basin. Saint-Quentin en Yvelines is itself a planned new town built from the 1970s onward, and the golf course forms part of a broader effort to give the area genuine leisure and sporting infrastructure.

The design rewards strategic thinking over raw power — wide enough to invite aggression but consistently punishing of poor placement. Water features and well-defended greens define the closing stretch, and the course held its shape under full Olympic scrutiny, which is perhaps the most honest endorsement any layout can receive.
