One of Edmonton's oldest public courses, Highlands Golf Club has been a fixture on the city's north side since the 1920s, occupying a stretch of the North Saskatchewan River valley that gives it genuine topographic character in a city where flat prairie is the default. The river valley escarpment brings elevation changes, mature tree corridors, and a sense of remove from the surrounding urban grid — you're playing through a landscape that feels older than the neighbourhood around it.
The course plays to a par 71, which hints at an asymmetry in the routing — likely a collection of shorter or demanding par 4s that reward precision over power.
