Travelers Rest sits at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in upstate South Carolina, where the Piedmont plateau gives way to genuine elevation change and the kind of forested terrain that doesn't exist farther south in the state. The town takes its name from its history as a stopping point along old mountain roads, and The Cliffs at Mountain Park occupies land that reflects exactly that transition zone — rocky outcroppings, mature hardwoods, and views that open dramatically as the terrain climbs.
The Cliffs is a private residential golf community, one of several developed under The Cliffs umbrella across the Carolina mountains. Mountain Park is the highest-elevation property in the collection, situated near Glassy Mountain, and the golf experience here is defined by the landscape rather than in spite of it. Playing conditions run cooler than the Lowcountry even in summer, and the fall color through the Blue Ridge can be exceptional.
As a private club, the course is primarily the domain of homeowners and their guests. The mountain setting rewards players who manage trajectory and think carefully about elevation — the kind of golf that asks more questions than a flat parkland layout ever would.
