King's Bay sits in the extreme southeastern corner of Georgia, where the coastal plain gives way to tidal marshes, live oaks draped in Spanish moss, and the kind of humid, salt-tinged air that defines the Georgia Low Country. The town is home to Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, the East Coast's largest submarine base, which lends the area a distinct military-community character — a place built around service, discipline, and a certain no-nonsense practicality.
Trident Lakes Golf Club takes its name from the Trident missile system, the signature weapon of the ballistic-missile submarines that operate out of the base, and the club exists primarily to serve the military community stationed there. Courses of this type — operated through the U.S. military's Morale, Welfare and Recreation program — tend to offer accessible, unpretentious golf focused on the player experience rather than prestige, often representing exceptional value for active-duty personnel, retirees, and their families.
