To Par ("To Par," "we," "us") is a service for tracking, ranking, and discovering golf courses. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using To Par at toparapp.com, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign up with email or with Google, we receive your email address and, from Google, your name and profile photo. You may add a username, full name, bio, and home state.
• Content you create.Course reviews and 0–10 scores, "want to play" lists, photos you upload, and the golfers you follow.
• Location. If you allow it, your approximate location is used to find nearby courses. We do not store a continuous location history; it is used to serve your search at the time you request it.
• Usage and device data. Basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed) collected automatically to keep the service secure and working.

How we use your information

• To operate core features — your rankings, lists, feed, and leaderboards.
• To personalize recommendations, including your "For You" score.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To send essential account email (confirmation, password reset).
• To improve the service and prevent abuse.

What is public

To Par is a social product. Your profile, username, reviews and scores, played-course count, photos, and your follow relationships are visible to other users. Do not post anything you do not want to be public. Reviews you mark private are not shown to others.

How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run To Par, under their respective terms:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Vercel — application hosting.
• Google — optional "Sign in with Google" authentication.
• Resend — delivery of account email.
• Mapbox / OpenStreetMap — maps and course location data.
• Anthropic — generating course descriptions (no personal data is sent).

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of To Par and its users.

Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary to sign you in and keep your session active. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings; this removes your profile and associated content. Some records may be retained briefly as required for security, backups, or legal obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or contact us using the details below. We do not sell personal information.

Children

To Par is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
